Physical Education Curriculum
Spark! Curriculum
SPARK is dedicated to creating, implementing, and evaluating research-based programs that promote lifelong wellness. SPARK strives to improve the health of children, adolescents, and adults by disseminating evidence-based Physical Education, After School, Early Childhood, and Coordinated School Health programs to teachers and recreation leaders serving Pre-K through 12th grade students.
Each SPARK program fosters environmental and behavioral change by providing a coordinated package of highly active curriculum, on-site teacher training, extensive follow-up support, and content-matched equipment.

Multi-Grade Curriculum
These instructional manuals respond to the needs of teachers who implement physical education in a small school setting for grades 1-4, 5-8 and 1-8. The selected physical education program for Seventh-day Adventist schools is SPARK Physical Education, Grades 3-6. These manuals expand the curriculum to include skills and activities appropriate for students in multiple grades.
Teachers in one-teacher schools will choose to implement either the grades 1-4 or grades 5-8 manual based on which band reflects the greatest number of students enrolled.
When copies are made of the manuals, print the pages front to back. This will provide the two pages for the lesson to be on one page (front to back) for ease of use during class instruction.
